Coaching for Parents

Mother with infantRichland County First Steps offers in-home, one-on-one parent coaching for families living in the Lower Richland area. Serving the Eastover, Gadsden, Hopkins, and Southeast Columbia communities, we have 3 Parent Educators (Home Visitors) that are certified through Parents As Teachers, a research-based early childhood parent education and family support program which has shown improved outcomes for children and families across the country and the globe. We serve prenatal moms and children from birth – 5 years old.

Our parent coaches assist families in four main developmental areas:

  • Language
  • Intellectual
  • Social-Emotional
  • Motor Development

Families who face certain risk factors or barriers to child success may qualify. For enrollment questions, please contact Barbara Stephenson at 803-553-1812.
