Midlands Gives 2019 Was a Success!

On May 7, 2019, RCFS participated in the annual online giving day known as Midlands Gives, sponsored by the Central Carolina Community Foundation.

Over a period of 18 hours, we received more than $3000 ($3,014.43, to be exact) in donations and prizes that will go directly back into programs serving young children and their families.

When you invest in our community through Richland County First Steps like these donors did, you help:

  • a parent in one of our home visitation programs learn how to use simple recyclable materials at home to create fun learning activities that help their children reach school readiness goals through our Step Up to School Readiness initiative;
  • a Richland County child care center on an Excellence in Care and Early Learning (ExCEL) team as it works to improve its quality of care and better prepare its children to be successful when reaching school;
  • an infant or toddler in one of our Early Head Start classrooms to feel safe, secure, and loved while growing and building important skills that will give them a great start in life.

We are grateful for each and every one of our donors. If you missed Midlands Gives Day but would like to support our efforts to prepare children for school, you can give securely online here any time.
