Richland County First Steps has been contracted by the University of South Carolina to recruit pregnant and new mothers for a research study on infant-toddler mobility called LAUNCH. The study needs babies who can start the study when they are 6 months old and continue until age three.

The LAUNCH recruiter will work to enlist mothers in the program – using provided materials like flyers, posters, interest forms and consent letters. Working with the Director of Care and Early Learning and the CEO, target events and areas to focus recruitment. Personal contact and building relationships with the mothers will be key to their initial sign-up and continued participation for three years. This person will be expected to keep up a relationship with mothers after they sign up and encourage them when each 6-month study-time is coming, if possible.
